The technique involves implanting EU pharmaceutical-grade, hypoallergenic pigments into the upper layers of the skin. Unlike conventional tattoos, the pigment is placed more superficially to allow for adjustments or colour refreshes.

Medical micropigmentation (often called a nipple tattoo) can restore natural colour, shape and definition to the area.
